Sea Hawks meet today

Over 250 athletes from 10 clubs have registered for the fifth edition of the Centre of Excellence Sea Hawks Annual New Year Splash Swim Meet, today, at the Centre of Excellence in Macoya. Starting time is 9 a.m.

This year’s edition of the meet features a developmental category which is for athletes who have yet to achieve competitive status.

Developmental athletes will compete in the 25-metre backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle, while competitive athletes will have the choice of four events from all the competitive swimming events except the 800m freestyle.

The meet has attracted top competitive talent, including World Junior Championship athlete and national record holder Kristin Julien of Areios Aquatechs, and top Open Water swimmer and Carifta medallist Theana Hay of Sea Hawks.
