World Championship men's 400 metres bronze medallist Renny Quow is among the athletes selected to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
The team, which was released to the media yesterday by manager George Comissiong, also includes top female sprinter Kelly-Ann Baptiste.
Double Olympic silver medallist Richard Thompson will not make the trip to Puerto Rico. He picked up a minor injury at the Aviva British Grand Prix Samsung Diamond League meet, in Gateshead, England last Saturday, and is resting until August.
Another sprinter, Semoy Hackett, is also out of the team because of injury.
Twenty-eight athletes--16 men and 12 women--are expected to fly the T&T flag in track and field at the CAC Games. The T&T team will leave for Puerto Rico next Wednesday, July 21. The CAC Games track and field competition takes place between July 25-30.
