Soca Warriors win 4-1Defence Force right winger Kevon Carter (10th & 30th) netted twice in the first half, and also set up Joe Public's Kerry Baptiste (18th) as Trinidad and Tobago's Soca Warriors scored a comfortable 4-1 victory over Antigua & Barbuda at the Marvin Lee Stadium (MLS) last night. And after leading 3-1 at the half, Digicel Pro League top-scorer Devorn Jorsling (70th) whipped in a stinging free-kick to see the Warriors home. Carter 's pace was an asset for T&T all night, unsettling the Antiguans and setting up many chances for the Soca Warriors who consisted of players drawn from the local professional league. Antigua and Barbuda momentarily threatened an upset when defender Akeem Thomas capitalised on a defensive lapse to score with a header in the 29th minute, making the score 2-1 at that point. Antigiua and Barbuda will play another match tomorrow when they take on the T&T National Under-23 side from 4 p.m. at the MLS in the opening match of a doubleheader that will also see the start of the Lucozade Goal Shield knockout tournament later on that night. |
