ToolsAll Sectors netball bounces off on SaturdayThe COURTS All Sectors Netball League will formally launch its 23rd Season with an opening ceremony at Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Orange Grove Road, Tacarigua on Saturday. The season begins with a 3 p.m. parade of teams to music provided by the Fire Service Band. The 2013 season of the All Sector Netball League will see competition taking place in the Premier, Championship, and Alternative divisions, comprising a total 15 teams. Of those 15, four teams will compete in the Premier Division, six in the Championship and five in the Alternative Division. There is also a five-team Retro Division for veteran players. During the season, teams in the Premiership will play two rounds of competition for cash prizes. A third round of competition will be played for the Stevenson Sarjeant Challenge trophy, in memory of the late former Port of Spain mayor who died in 2010, who was an honorary member of the management committee of the League. The Championship Division will as usual play two rounds for the League Trophy. Championship teams will also play a knockout competition for the Jean Pierre Challenge trophy, in memory of late T&T netballing great Eugenia 'Jean' Pierre, who was one of the pioneers of the League. In addition to its regular competitions, the All Sector League will include the FAST 5 as another competition in each division. This is a revised version of the shorter game, which was played internationally for the first time in Auckland, New Zealand in November.
