Left-hand opening batsman Jeremy Solozano made a commanding century to lead the East Zone to first innings points against South East and a place in the final against South when their two-day BG T&T Under-19 InterZone semi-final at Honeymoon Park in El Dorado concluded yesterday.
Resuming on 76 not out overnight, Solozano poured on the runs today to finish on 158 in an innings that spanned 349 minutes and 216 balls. Solozano struck 17 fours and one six to power his team to 306 all out in the first innings.
Solozano was supported by left-arm chinaman bowler Afdal Khan who struck 38 and Kwinsi Williams with 31.
Spinner Tevon Jadoo captured match figures of eight for 52 after he limited South East to 44 for four at the close of play.
In the other semi-final at Syne Village in Penal, South who took a 53-run first innings lead over North, made 190 in their second turn at the crease with batsman Justin Sankaran powering to 70.
North bowlers Jesse Bootan and Carl Vialva nabbed 4 for 78 and 4 for 23 resepectively in a losing attempt.
