Arima Giants, Trincity reach FA Trophy final four

Premier Division joint leaders Trincity Nationals and East First Division team Arima Giants have both reached the semi-final stage of the Trinidad and Tobago Women's League Football (WOLF) FA Trophy competition.

Thursday's FA Trophy quarter-final double-header at Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, saw Arima Giants edging another First Division team in Malabar Superstars 1-0 via a Verlee Duprey goal, while in-form Trincity Nationals saw off East First Division winners St Augustine SC 2-1.

Sisters Shanelle and Jonelle Warrick scored for Trincity and Jennel Kissoon netted for St Augustine.

Last week, Malick City knocked Tobago Women's Team out of the FA Trophy when winning 3-1.

Striker Patrice Superville, playmaker Kiva Gresham and captain and defender Anastasia Prescott all scored for Malick, while Crystal Taylor got the lone goal for Tobago.

The final two FA Trophy semi-final spots will be decided tomorrow when Malick face Defence Force from 4 p.m. in the second match of a quarter-final double-header at Dibe Recreation Ground.

Earlier, Real Dimension will play South First Division winners Point Fortin Pioneers in the opening game at 2 p.m.
