Arima North Secondary and El Dorado East Secondary should provide the highlight for the BGT&T/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) East Zone lead today at Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar from 3.45 p.m.
Arima have dropped points three times in their matches so far, but need to beat the current East leaders and defending champs of "El Do" to end the round with an advantage. The result also becomes even more crucial as El Dorado have a rescheduled match in hand.
El Dorado's football has not been the cleanest, but they have taken advantage of any slip by their opponents to make sure they are atop the standings. The leaders would like to keep that edge going into the second round next week.
Usual contenders St Augustine Secondary are on a bye, and after a slow start this season, they will be hoping the teams draw to keep them within striking distance in the competitive East.
In the other two matches, San Juan North Secondary are favoured to overcome visiting, winless El Dorado West Secondary at Bourg Mulatresse, while Toco Secondary get back into action at home to Trinity College East after they were forced to postpone their last match due to the death of a Toco student.
North Zone action is also interesting, with East Mucurapo Secondary and Fatima College both trying to make up ground on leaders St Anthony's College, who are on a bye, but yet to be beaten.
Mucurapo take on Diego Martin North Secondary at Fatima's Mucurapo Road Ground, while Fatima travel to Trinity College in Moka. The other match should be interesting, with Queen's Royal College playing old rivals St Mary's College at Serpentine Road in St Clair.
The big clash in the South Zone will be second-placed Shiva Boys Hindu College's fixture with St Benedict's College at Penal, while the Tobago and Central zones will both also be in action.
Carapichaima will try to stretch their win streak to four in four matches against Chaguanas North Secondary at Chaguanas, while Couva West have some catching up to do after losing to Tabaquite, and they face Presentation College Chaguanas at "Pres". Tabaquite host Gasparillo Secondary.
Over in Tobago, Signal Hill and Speyside meet at Signal Hill, and Roxborugh take on Scarborough at Roxborough. All matches kick off at 3.45 p.m.
