Australian twins in 'RBC' semis

THE twin brothers from Australia will play for places in the under-12 final when the RBC Royal Bank Junior Tennis Tournament continues today at Trinidad Country Club, Maraval.

Christopher Thorp came from behind to nose out Kyle Kerry 3-5, 4-1, 10/8 in yesterday's quarter-finals, but brother Alexander cruised past Ethan Jeary 4-1, 4-2 to book his place in today's semi-finals.

Celine Ramsumair produced the upset of the day when she stunned second-seeded Tobagonian Dajohnique Delancy 7-5, 6-0 in the under-16 quarters. The No. 4 seed was also sent packing as Sarah Escalante defeated Dominique Coutain 6-3, 6-4, but Danielle Devenish and Makalah Goodridge restored some order for the seeded players.

The top-seeded Devenish was a 6-1, 6-3 winner over Jouzile Leander, while third-seeded Goodridge booked her place in the last eight by beating Sherisse Arjoon 6-1, 6-2.
