IN CONTROL: Nigel Flavenney has Princess Jo Ann on a long rein crossing the finish line for a comfortable 1 1/2-length win in the Republic Make It Happen Loan (horses rated 40 & Lower) on last week’s Boxing Day programme at Santa Rosa Park, Arima. The American-bred four-year-old bay filly was registering a repeat victory, having opened her account on her previous start on December 7. The daughter of Indy King, who prevailed at 6/1, completed the 1,350-metre sprint in 1:25.12. Trained by veteran Juan Mosca, who saddled three winners on the ten-race holiday card, Princess Jo Ann was followed home by Little Otis, Super Sonic, Enigmatic, and On My Own, to round out the top five placings, which proved elusive to punters with no HI-5 winners. —Photo: CURTIS CHASE
