Bajan quartet in ‘Solo’ tourney

FOUR Barbadian national players are competing alongside the likes of Kerwyn Pantin, Anil Seepaul and Nekeisha Blake in the Solo Beverages Open Badminton Championships at Central Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Chaguanas.

The tournament served off at Central Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Chaguanas, after press time last night and will conclude tomorrow.

The Bajan contingent is headed by multiple national champion Andre Padmore, who captured a triple crown in their national championships last weekend.

Compatriot Dakeil Thorpe is also in the 32-draw, while the women’s draw of 16 will include Barbados national champ Mariama Eastmond and her compatriot Shari Watson.

With three-time defending national champ Solangel Guzman out of the country, the women’s draw is wide open.
