BIG MAN's runaway success in Saturday's 1,300-metre race for West Indian three-year-old maidens and winners of one race by 5 3/4 lengths, makes him a tough nut to crack in the 1,300-metre Royal Colours Classic on February 2 at Santa Rosa Park.

This race is only for T&T-bred horses, so his St James Stakes conqueror Prince Zeshan will not be eligible for the event.

Trainer John O'Brien has a strong hand in the race with Central Square, Gold Rush and Always A Princess. All have shown improvement, but have not advanced sufficiently to lower the Rohit Dube-trained runner's colours. On the main track on Sunday morning, more horses paced than breezed. Trainer Jose William-Samaroo had a busy morning with his importations, Sassy Taste and Patriot Guard displaying marked improvement, covering their 800-metre spin in a good 51.06, which was the second fastest recorded time over this trip Sunday. Burst Of Energy from Derick Mosca's barn, who fired 49.40, had the fastest recorded time of the morning for that trip.

Samaroo's other importations, Captive Witness and Ex-Kay's Inlet also breezed over the same trip, but in a slower 51.19 with the roan grey Ex-Kay's Inlet stronger in the work.

Samaroo also sent out his pair of creoles, Asia and three-year-old Right To Rule and they turned in a very good 1:03.66, which was the fastest time for this trip on Sunday. Right To Rule was made to fight by Asia, but it was a good searching work for Right To Rule.

Here are Sunday's recorded workouts:
