Bootan spins North Zone U19s to big win

North Zone leg-spinner Jesse Bootan's match haul of 11 wickets to lead his team to an innings and 45-run win over North East in their BG T&T InterZone Under-19 match at Santa Cruz yesterday.

Bootan grabbed six for 43 in the second innings to help dismiss North East for 132. Bootan had five for 21 in the first innings.

Before the leg-spinner's heroics, North Zone skipper Joshua Ramdoo had his time in the sun, scoring 113 to lead his team to 272 for five declared. Camillo Carimbocas was also among the runs, hitting 66 not out.

Also completing an outright win yesterday were Central, who dismissed South for 122 and 77 yesterday. Central made 344 for five on Monday.

Bryan Charles, who scored a half century in Central's big first innings, snatched five for 23 and two for four to aid in the innings and 145-run victory.

Elsewhere, defending champions East, led by 88 from Jeremy Solozano, won on first innings against Tobago at Shaw Park.

East made 286 for nine yesterday after dismissing Tobago for 226 the day before.
