Bovell back in the pool today

Top Trinidad and Tobago swimmer George Bovell will splash into action today in the Men’s 100m individual medley (IM) in the Dubai, UAE leg of the 2013 FINA Swimming World Cup series.

Bovell will swim in the heat five, lane four as the second fastest seed. His arch-rival Russian Vladimir Morozov swims in heat six, lane four.

T&T’s 2004 Athens Olympics swimming bronze medallist is also the second fastest seed for the Men’s 50m free tomorrow in heat seven, lane four, with Morozov the fastest once more in the eight heat, lane four.

Over the weekend, Bovell won two bronze medals in the 100m IM and 50m free at the Moscow, Russia leg of the Cup.

The 2013 FINA World Long Course Swimming Championship Men’s 50m freestyle bronze medallist claimed his first bronze medal when he was timed in 52.88 seconds for the four-lap Men’s 100m individual medley (IM), while he clocked 21.49 seconds Men’s 50m freestyle for bronze.

Bovell earlier won one gold and two bronze at the Berlin and Netherlands Antilles leg of the competition back in August.
The 30-year-old Bovell’s next Cup assignments following the Dubai leg of the 2013 FINA Swimming World Cup will be in Doha, Qatar (October 20-21), Singapore (November 5-6), Tokyo, Japan (November 9-10), and Beijing, China, (November 13-14).
