Busy ‘CASOVA’ day for T&T’s boys

TRINIDAD and Tobago’s boys will have a very busy day today when the CASOVA (Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association) Youth Championships continues at Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua.

The two-time bronze medallists will be on court first thing in the morning (9 a.m.) against defending champions United States Virgin Islands. And the hosts will have to return at 6 p.m. to oppose the Jamaicans, who were thrashed 25-10, 25-14, 25-18 by the Barbadians in just over an hour in the first match of the tournament yesterday afternoon.

T&T’s under-19 players will conclude their round-robin campaign at 4 p.m. tomorrow against Barbados.

This country’s under-18 girls, winners of both editions of the female tournament, began their campaign after press time last night against Bahamas and will tackle the only other team, Barbados, at 6 p.m. tomorrow.

The boys’ gold-medal contest will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday and the girls’ final will follow two hours later.
