Caldrac clinch T20 title
Daniel St Clair slammed and unbeaten 38 and his skipper Allan Laurent hit 40 not out to lead Caldrac Club to a six wicket win over Calcutta Sports in the final of the NGC/SIS sponsored People Empowering People Twenty20 final at Macaulay Park, California on Saturday night.
In front of a packed house, the home team dismissed Calcutta for 119 off their final ball of their innings with Christopher Vincent doing most of the damage, grabbing three wickets for 13 runs, backed up by Negus Carthy and Javid Ramdhanie who took two wickets each.
St Clair and Laurent then rescued their team from trouble, sharing an unbroken stand for the fifth wicket stand to lead Caldrac to 120 for four off just 18.3 overs to clinch the first prize of $20,000.
Calcutta walked away with the $12,000 runners up purse.
Raiders pocketed the third-place prize of $7,000 after defeating On Line Drivers Highlight in the third place play-off which took place at the same venue prior to the final.
In that game, Raiders made 123 for four off their reduced ten overs before restricting their opponents to 101 for five.
