Camillo Carimbocas continued his good from with the bat this season, hitting 101 retired to put the Keron Kanhai XI in control against the Jeremy Solozano XI on the first day of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board under-19 trial match at Gilbert Park in California, yesterday
The right-handed middle order batsman Carimbocas, who scored two centuries in the BG T&T under-19 InterZone tournament, made a good case for his inclusion in the national under-19 squad after hitting 11 fours to help his team close Day One on 325 for eight after bating for 103 overs.
Also contributing to the big total was all-rounder Justin Joseph who hit 65. Carimbocas’ North Zone and Hillview College teammate leg-spinner Jesse Bootan was also in good form, grabbing four wickets for 55 runs to keep his side in the hunt. The trial match continues today from 9.30 a.m.
