LAST MAN OUT: Akiel Cooper Castro disconnects T&TEC in UWI T20Fast bowling all-rounder Teshawn Castro slammed an undefeated 37 and took two wickets as he led LLumar Esmeralda to a six-wicket win over T&TEC Sports in the UWI Twenty20 knockout tournament at Sir Frank Worrell Ground, St Augustine on Thursday night. After being sent in to bat, T&TEC were restricted to 119 for seven off their 20 overs with Akiel Cooper hitting 42 off 39 balls and Ryan Ramasray with an undefeated 31 off 17 balls. Cooper and Ramasray shared a 52-run seventh wicket partnership that rescued T&TEC from 52 for six in 14.3 over to a respectable total. Cooper slammed three fours and a six to lead the charge and was the last man out in the final over. Ramasray hit two sixes and a four while Kwesi Blackburn hit one six off the only ball he faced from Akeel Mollon. Mollon had one for 38 from his four overs and Castro took two for 11 from his four. When Esmeralda batter, opener Anthony Bramble gave them a good start with his 47 off 39 balls. He struck two sixes and four fours. Castro hit two fours and a six in his 28-ball knock to take Esmeralda to 120 for four off 18.1 overs. The tournament continued last night with Moosai Sports taking on Super Force from 7 p.m. at the same venue.
