Central Bank and Fire were in winners’ row when competition in the Alternative Division of the Courts All Sectors Netball League continued Thursday.
In the first game of a doubleheader at the Eastern Regional Indoor Complex, goal shoot Sharlane Lewis netted 21 goals from 28 attempts, while goal assist Dhalia Quamina sank 13 of 27 to power Central Bank to a 34-29 victory over USC.
Central Bank were always in control of the game, leading 9-5 after the first quarter; 18-10 at the half; and 29-19 after the third quarter.
For USC, goal assist Afiya Alexis tallied 17 of her 34 attempts while goal shoot Carla Victor sank 12 of 19.
In the second match, Game Changers fielded the bare minimum five players, all of whom had to play the entire match.
They suffered a 51-41 defeat to Fire, whose goal shoot Afeisha Noel powered a game high 39 from 48 attempts. She was assisted by goal assist Simone Morgan with 12.
Game Changers kept it close after the first quarter, when they were only down 12-10, before Fire extended their advantage to 28-19 at the half. Game Changers dug deep to bring the score to 39-33 in the third quarter before Fire pulled away with the fresher legs.
Goal assist Kalifa Mc Collin topscored for Changers with 20 from 26, while fellow goal assist Crystal Ann George chipped in with 11 from 21 and goal shoot Daystar Swift only missed one of her 11 attempts.
