ToolsCentral FC sign four playersCentral FC have already signed four players in the first week of the December/January transfer window and are looking at further signings according to the Couva-based club. The most shocking signing was midfielder Rennie Britto jumping across from neighbouring DIRECTV W Connection. Britto was unveiled along with the Super League's Stokely Vale FC duo of Rondell Winchester and Omar Charles. The Tobagonians recently impressed against Pro League clubs in the recently concluded Toyota Classic and current FA Trophy tournament. Meantime, former Puerto Rico Islanders defender Osei Telesford welcomed the transfer window after nearly two months of awaiting his official move to Central FC. The transfer window opened last Monday and will run through to Tuesday, January 15 2013. "We've always planned to strengthen the squad in December," said assistant Coach Kevin Jeffrey in a release by Central FC. "We started from scratch [at the beginning of the season] so we knew we would need to make improvements mid-season. One of the areas of concern, was our lack of firepower and bringing in Rondell means we have an exciting young striker who has been scoring regularly in the Super League." "I'm going to miss everyone at Stokely Vale," Winchester said. "But, I'm grateful to the club for supporting me and allowing me to move to Central FC." According to the Central FC release, Winchester said other clubs were interested in his signature, however he was impressed by Central's approach. Winchester said: "Mr. (Brent) Sancho came over to talk with my family and I, and he spent a couple of hours answering our questions. My parents and I are convinced that the club has my best interests at heart, and we felt this was the right move for me." |
