Premier Division champions Real Dimension will be in action against Malick City as action in the Trinidad and Tobago Women’s League 2013 season begins today with two matches.
Real Dimension take on keen rivals Malick from 7 p.m. on the front ground of the University of the West Indies, while an earlier match will see last year’s League and knockout runners-up Trincity Nationals opening against Defence Force from 4 p.m. on Eddie Hart ground, Tacarigua.
The league had its official opening on April 27 with a march past and family day. This season, a total 19 teams will compete in the women’s competition.
The Premier Division comprises nine teams: Real Dimension WFC, Trincity Nationals, Malick City FC, Tobago United, Defence Force and the newly promoted teams Step by Step FC, St. Ann’s Rangers and St. Augustine FC.
The Trinidad and Tobago women’s national under-17 team is also in this division and will be using the matches to prepare for the Caribbean Football Union qualifiers in August. The national Under-17 women will face Step by Step FC tomorrow from 4.30 p.m. at the UWI front ground.
The First Division has 10 teams and is divided into two groups.
Group A consists of newcomers Diego Martin Central and Barataria Ball Players competing against Tunapuna Titans, Malabar Superstars FC, Tobago All Stars and Pro League Club Central FC Lady Sharks.
Group B is comprised of 2012 South Zone champions Point Fortin Pioneers, La Brea Angels, Petrotrin and Ministry of Sports Schoolaz.
