‘Chess Carnival’ at NAPA

Over 50 junior chess players will converge for the 12th Caribbean Chess Carnival at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port of Spain, from today until Saturday. The international junior chess players will battle for the title of 2014 champion chess players from the Caribbean and South America.
This annual chess tournament, now in its 12th year, is being sponsored by First Citizens Asset Management. The Caribbean Chess Carnival is a forum through which youth can engage in positive activity and develop critical thinking and analysis skills.
The tournament is being hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Chess Foundation. The event is being spearheaded by the Foundation’s President, Edison Raphael, along with a dedicated team of chess enthusiasts.
