Clarke Road win by innings

Newly-crowned Sunday League champions First Citizens Clarke Road boosted their confidence further with a massive victory in their Premier Division two-day league match yesterday, as they defeated CLICO Preysal by an innings and 173 runs at Wilson Road.
Resuming on 298 for six, with Kyle Mayers (53 not out) and Derone Davis (40 not out) at the crease, Clarke Road reached 401 for nine declared, with Mayers remaining unbeaten on 103 and Davis reaching 63 before he was dismissed.
With an overall first innings lead of 294, Clarke Road dismissed Preysal for 121. Samuel Roopnarine (three wickets) and Davis and Kissoondath Magram (two wickets each) ensured victory for their team.
Merry Boys, Jenexcon Tableland and Moosai Sports all won outright yesterday in their respective clashes over Caldrac Sports, Munroe Road Cricket Club and Seenath’s Auto Bamboo Sports.
Queen’s Park Cricket Club avoided victory at home although they lost first innings, while PowerGen Sports won first innings, but were unable to force a win over Alescon Comets.
