Classic performance in Royal Colours

FULL ON FUEL: High Octane, with Wilmer Galviz aboard, canters to a facile 3 3/4-length success in last Saturday’s 1300-metre Royal Colours Classic at Santa Rosa Park, Arima. Trained by John O’Brien for owners S.I.R. Stables, the dark bay gelded son of Charismatic Cat, who started at 4/1 odds, was making his debut in the $150,000 contest for locally-bred three-year-olds. His winning time was 1:21.63.

However, High Octane’s stablemate Market Rally, who was second past the finish line, was relegated to third-place following an objection lodged, for interference through the stretch run to favourite Country Boy, who was promoted a place to the runner-up berth. —Photo: DAVID WIGHT
