Club Sando stay ahead in Super League

Leaders Club Sando continued to set the pace in the blink/bmobile National Super League when they turned back Tobago team, fourth-placed 1976 Phoenix 4-1 when matches continued on Sunday.

Club Sando never looked back after Lesse Downing gave them the lead on the stroke of half time, and Teba Mc Knight (48th), Kerron Smith (53rd) and Wade Caesar quadrupled the advantage before Dominique Kerr got a consolation for Phoenix.

Second-placed Malabar FC, having played a game more, kept up the pressure on the leaders with a 5-1 thumping of Westside Superstarz FC. Five different players--Kevon Woodley, Cyrano Glen, Jameel Neptune, Gorian Highley and Cordell Samuel--got on the scoresheet for Malabar, with Akil Morris getting the lone item for Superstarz.

Down at the bottom, Santa Rosa FC suffered their 10th defeat of the season when they were edged 1-0 by Bethel United for whom Vernon Wilson got the winner. Meanwhile, one-from-bottom WASA FC gained ground on 11th placed Siparia Spurs after they edged Real Maracas 3-2. Dwight Crichlow, Fabian Garcia, plus a Maracas own goal made the difference for WASA.

The utility side is now three points adrift of Spurs who dropped two points when they were held to a 0-0 draw against Joe Public FC.
