Connection stay 3rd after weekend win

Defending champions Directv W Connection defeated cellar-placed T&TEC 3-1 to keep sole possession of third spot in the Digicel Pro League on Saturday at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya.

Stefano Rijssel gave Connection the lead in the 24th minute, only for T&TEC to get an equaliser through Nathaniel Garcia in the 42nd minute. But Connection took the lead again on half time when Hashim Arcia scored.

And they sealed the win 12 minutes from the end through Andrei Pacheco.

Meanwhile, North East Stars could only manage a goalless draw with St Ann's Rangers in the second match.

W Connection are now on 19 points, two ahead of Stars, with T&TEC at the bottom of the eight-team standings on four points and Rangers just ahead of T&TEC with nine points.
