Coral Cup tees off

The Trinidad & Tobago Contractors Association (TTCA) will stage its sixth annual Coral Cup Classic Golf Tournament this weekend at Millennium Lakes Golf & Country Club in Trincity. The charity identified to benefit from this year’s event is Raffa House.

This non-governmental organisation comprises two facilities, located in Curepe and Tacarigua, which house and care for abandoned and abused girls and boys. Those under their care are provided with food, medical care, educational assistance and life-skills training.

The tournament will be contested by 50 two-man teams, from throughout the Caribbean and USA, who will vie for ten pairs of attractive prizes.

The tournament format will be two-ball better-ball utilising players’ full handicaps.

Play will tee off at 10 a.m. today and 11 a.m. tomorrow.

A major feature of the prize-giving ceremony is an auction of a bat autographed by one of the most formidable opening partnerships in Test cricket history, Desmond Haynes and Gordon Greenidge.
