Costelloe, Butler win Jungle Jackpot

By Mark Fraser

Jason Costelloe finished king of the “Jungle’” and Tamiko Butler was queen, as they won the Men’s and Women’s Open divisions respectively in the NLCB Jungle Jackpot Mountain Biking Race on Sunday in Chaguaramas.
Costelloe, riding for Team Beacon, got the better of Mike’s Bikes’s duo of Peter Sellier and Rishi Ramlalack, who were second and third respectively.
In the women’s category, Butler, the Antigua-born Heatwave rider, edged out teammate Chastine Salazar for the win, with Gabrielle Williams finishing third.
Sellier shone in the “primes” (pronounced ‘preems’) or lap prizes, picking up three, while Costelloe and Butler had one each.
Jason Gaitan (Rainbow Warriors) won the Men’s Sport Division, and Heidi Lue Chin took the women’s equivalent.
