on show: Tonya Nero

Cox, Nero on show in Lancelot 5K

The Air Bon Sonics Athletics Club will host the seventh annual George Lancelot 5K Classic today, starting at the Arima Agricultural Society, on the Eastern Main Road in Arima, at 6.30 a.m.

Curtis Cox is the defending champion among the men. Last year, he completed the five-kilometre course in 15 minutes, seven seconds.

The 2011 women's champion, Jenelle Nedd will not defend her title. Spectators, however, are in for a treat. Fresh from her UWI SPEC International Half-Marathon victory, woman-of-the-moment Tonya Nero will be on show in cool early morning conditions conducive to fast times.

The George Lancelot 5K Classic course heads west along the Eastern Main Road, and ends in Bon Air Gardens, at the Bon Air Recreation Ground.
