Crime Of Passion gets inside draw in ‘Sian’s Gold’

 STEWARDS CUP winner Crime Of Passion has been drawn to leave from the two-gate in the New Year’s Day 1,100-metre First Citizens Sian’s Gold Sprint on the turf at Santa Rosa Park.

The John O’Brien-trained chestnut colt will be partnered by Wilmer Galviz in the one-turn turf feature, while the 2013 winner, Sacred Trust, will leave from the outside nine-gate, and will be partnered by Jonathon Mancilla in the nine-horse Grade One feature, which carries a purse of $150,000. Also entered in the race is Stewards Cup runner-up Signal Alert and the speedy creole filly Indian Medicine.

The draw for post positions for the 1,200-metre First Citizens First Sprint and the Sian’s Gold Sprint was held yesterday at the Santa Rosa Park Grandstand, with unbeaten colt Holy Man—who will be partnered Canadian-based rider Emile Ramsammy—leaving from the one-gate. Another unbeaten colt, Carbon Fiber, is next to him, exiting from the two-gate with Wilmer Galviz. Thisonesforron starts from the five-hole in the $150,000 first race of the ten-race holiday card.
