Edwards gets first goal for Ipswich

Trinidad and Tobago midfielder Carlos Edwards scored his first goal in two seasons for English Championship Division team Ispwich Town yesterday as they edged Bolton Wanders 1-0, at home at Portman Road.

With the game seemingly headed for a scoreless stalemate, the 34-year-old winger struck with two minutes left to move his side four points above the relegation zone.

Edwards, who had squandered a great opportunity in the 84th minute, made amends when he stayed composed to slot in Jay Emmanuel-Thomas's cross.
