El Dorado East look for better in InterCol

After finishing the PowerGen Secondary Schools Cricket League Premier Division in last place, El Dorado East Secondary will be hoping for better performances in the Twenty20 InterCol knockout competition when they start their title defence against Naparima Boys College at Munroe Road Ground from 5 p.m. today.

“El Do”, who won the T20 InterCol for the first time in 2012 and successfully defended their title last year, have had a poor showing in the league and will be demoted to the Championship Division at the end of the season but before that, they will have a chance to complete a hat trick in the T20 InterCol.

In other matches today, last year’s runners up Barrackpore West Secondary will start their campaign against Championship Division side Iere High School at Syne Village in Penal also starting at 5 p.m. while Hillview College, who were runners up in the league this year, will face Barataria South Secondary at Honeymoon Park from 1 p.m.

Elsewhere, the Championship Division winners ASJA Boys College, who had a bye in the first round of the competition last week, will face Carapichaima East Secondary in round two at Caldrac Ground in California from 5 p.m.

Premier Division winners Vishnu Boys Hindu College will have a bye in round two and will start their campaign at the quarterfinal stage next week.
