El Do host Pres Chaguanas in SSCLEl Dorado East Secondary took a slender lead in the PowerGen Secondary Schools Cricket League Premier Division last week and will be looking to build on that when they host Presentation College Chaguanas in round four at Honeymoon Park, El Dorado from 9:30 a.m. today. El Dorado are currently on 51 points, four points ahead of defending champions Hillview College. Pres Chaguanas are in third place on 42 points and they will need an outright win today to keep pace with the leaders. Ewart Nicholson scored 84 in El Do's last match when they defeated Princes Town West and will again be the centre of the team's batting at Honeymoon Park, where they have crossed the 200-run mark twice in their last three matches. Spinner Adrian Geeban also had a good game last week, taking four wickets to help seal the win and he could give the visitors some problems. For Pres, Brian Charles and Kieron Joseph batted well last week to help the Central team hold on for a draw against Hillview at Pres ground in Chaguanas. Honeymoon Park should be better for batting and if Charles and Joseph get going, El Do could be in for a tough fight. Hillview will also have to win to stay within striking distance at the top of the standings although mid-table Naparima could be a handful. Both teams have solid batting line-ups but Naps will feel like they hold the edge going into the clash after their wicket-keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran slammed the first century of the competition last week. He made an even 100 against Shiva Boys. Hillview had good scores from skipper Anthony Simmons (62) and Brian Christmas (46) in their last match but their test will come against left-arm spinner Jovan Ali, who took five wickets for Naps last week and who was also one of the nominees for last weekend's First Citizens Youth Awards. In the Championship Division, Trinity East and Vishnu Boys are tied for the lead with 37 points each. Trinity East tackle Toco Secondary at Squadron Ground, Trincity, while Vishnu Boys travel to Carapichiama East Secondary. All matches bowl off at 9:30 a.m. —Roger Seepersad
