Fire douse Jabloteh, Police arrest UWI

LED by goal shoot Aquila Blugh, who scored 28 points from 46 attempts, Fire defeated Jabloteh 44-22 in their clash on Tuesday in the Championship Division of the All Sectors Netball League at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena in Tacarigua.
She was supported by Ayana Peters (GA), who netted 16 goals (from 21 tries) as the division leaders maintained a perfect 4-for-4 record in the first round of the current season. Fire led throughout (13-4; 22-11; 36-16) as LaToya Thomas scored 11 from 15 for the hapless Jabloteh.
Meanwhile, in the Premiership division, Police X downed UWI 57-12. Leading the law enforcers was the dynamic duo of goal attack Joelisa Cooper and sidekick Janice McIntosh (GS). Cooper had a fantastic scoring percentage, netting 35 from 38 shots at the ring, while her teammate contributed with 22 goals (from 37 tries).
Police X led by 12 goals at the half (20-8) as UWI struggled to stay competitive, with their goal attack Tonisha Rock-Yaw posting up seven from 12 in what proved an impotent offensive attack.
