ToolsFire take ASNL Championship knockoutFire Service doused UWI 36-21 to take the Courts All-Sectors Netball League (ASNL) Championship Division knockout title, while Complete Custom Services (CCS) are the Retro Division knockout champs. On Tuesday night, at Eastern Regional Indoor Sporting Arena in Tacarigua, Fire stopped UWI in two 10-minute halves, jumping out to a 17-12 lead at half-time that they solidified in the final period. Fire Service goal shoot Aquila Blugh stood out in scoring 20 goals from 25 attempts, one less than UWI's overall score. Goal attack Nariba Grant added the other 16 goals (21 attempts) for Fire. UWI's goals came from goal shoot Abeni Taylor (17-of-24 shooting) and goal attack Akeela Rodriguez (four goals). CCS sewed up the Retro crown with a 16-7 win over TSTT, on goals from Julia Britto (ten) and Sharon John (six), goal shoot and goal attack respectively. Goal shoot Camille Aubin (6-of-8) and goal attack Susan Squires (one) got TSTT's goals. The first half was very close, though, as CCS led just 6-5 between sessions. |
