It could be Headline News and a War Of Words when two two-year-olds trained by leading trainer John O'Brien make their debut at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on Saturday.

On Sunday morning, at Santa Rosa, the Jamaica-bred juveniles breezed over 600 metres, recording a fast 36.57 seconds, with both Headline News and War Of Words displaying encouraging signs for the future.

Later on, juvenile Atlantica had older stablemate Precise Rule for company, and although Precise Rule was stronger at the end of the workout, Atlantica did give a good account, clocking a good 36.22.

Trainer Harold Chadee also sent out his pair of two-year-olds, Zum Zun and Always Ready over the same trip, but they worked in a slower 37.00.

The opening of the turf track on Sunday gave unplaced Derby finishers, Taste Of Texas and Pistons And Rings an opportunity to test the surface.

Taste Of Texas worked with stablemate, The Red Skull over 1,000 metres, and they recorded a good 1:06.68, with Taste Of Texas handling the grass track like a veteran, although he has not raced on it.

Pistons And Rings breezed with Brian Harding astride, and he also took it in stride.

However, the horse that worked best on the turf was Silverleo, who breezed over 800 metres in a "bullet" 47.92.

Yesterday, trainer Glenn Mendez sharpened his quartet of Taste Of Texas (Gary Laban), Ex-Local Charmer (Ricky Jadoo), The Big Show and Imperial Ruler, from the gates. Taste Of Texas proved too alert for his stablemates.

Juvenile Ex-Local Charmer showed good early speed also, and could be seen out this Saturday.

Trainer Rohit Dube's pair of juveniles, Big Man and Something Black breezed over 800 metres, with Big Man proving too strong for Something Black.
