Greenidge back for TTCB Academy

THE Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) has again engaged the services of former outstanding West Indies opening batsman Gordon Greenidge.

The Barbadian, who has had a long relationship with the Board, has been assigned to work with the TTCB Academy Inductees, representing the new generation of young and upcoming national stars.

One of these sessions will commence today at the National Cricket Centre at Balmain, Couva from 1 pm 3 p.m.

The 61-year-old Greenidge played 108 Tests for the West Indies and scored 7,558 runs which includes 19 centuries with a highest score of 226 and retired with an excellent average of 44.72.

During his career which spanned from 1974 to 1991 he formed what is still considered one of the most destructive opening batting partnerships with fellow Barbadian Desmond Haynes.
