Guaya United clinch Super League title

 Guaya United defeated Siparia Spurs 2-1 on Sunday to clinch the blink/bmobile National Super League title by one point.

They were one point ahead of second place Club Sando and seven better that third place Malabar FC who were also victorious in the rescheduled games on Sunday.

Kendes Garcia’s 43rd minute goal put Guaya ahead in their game against the Spurs before Earlon Thomas double their advantage with his 71st minute item. 

The Spurs pulled one back six minutes from full time through Shackiel Henry but it was too late for the Siparia side to come back as Guaya held on for the win.

Club Sando defeated FC Santa Rosa 3-1 on Sunday thanks to strikes from Jesse Downing in the 19th and Akeem Humphrey in the 39th to finish second. 

Sando were also helped by a 19th minute own goal.

Santa Rosa’s lone goal came in the 85th minute through Andre Rampersad.

Defence Force finished last in the 13-team competition. They did not complete round two of the league and the official decision regarding their outstanding eight games will be made by the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association.
