Guaya, Malabar promoted to Super League

Eastern Counties football champions Guaya United and East champs Malabar FC have both won promotion to the 2013 National Super League.

Six 2012 champions of zone football throughout Trinidad and Tobago were competing for two spots in the semi-pro league, and with one round of matches left, Guaya and Malabar have secured promotion.

On Wednesday, unbeaten Guaya cemented their spot with a 2-2 draw against Central champions Enterprise Youths.

Meanwhile, Malabar bounced back from Sunday's 4-2 defeat against Guaya by beating North champions St Francois Nationals 4-0.

Guaya and Malabar will replace Eagles and Biche United, the bottom two teams during the last Super League season.
