Guillen, Augustus centuries rescue QPCC

Although rain ruined some of the matches played in the National League Premier Division, it was the rule of the batsmen that saw all six matches drawn yesterday.
Queen’s Park Cricket Club overcame a precarious position yesterday, with Justin Guillen (113) and last year’s T&T Cricket Board Player of the Year Jonathan Augustus (110 not out) hauling them to 361 for five in their second innings and a tame draw against First Citizens Clarke Road at Wilson Road.
At Inshan Ali Park, Preysal were dismissed for 153 before rain saved the day, with their opponents Caldrac Sports picking up first innings points.
Merry Boys could not force victory after Comets batted to 208, and Merry Boys, who scored 316 in the first innings, hit 253 for three the second time around for another draw.
Bamboo Sports stole first innings with 3008 for eight in reply to Munroe Road’s 263 at Bamboo Recreation Ground, while at Syne Village, Tableland Sports rallied to 244 and then followed on with 292 to make sure they did not slip to defeat after PowerGen started the match with a towering score of 394.
