Hillview begin their SSCL title defence

 Hillview College will start their PowerGen Secondary Schools Cricket League title defence today against newly-crowned Super Sixes champions Princes Town West Secondary in Princes Town from 9.30 a.m.

The defending champions have strengthened their ranks with the addition of Trinidad and Tobago Under-19 batsman Camilo Carimbocas, who is likely to captain the side this season.

He joins his Under-19 teammate leg-spinner Jesse Bootan in the Hillview line-up which also includes Bootan’s younger brother Jonathan, who was part of a the T&T Invitational Under-16 side that won the Bradman Foundation 50-over final against Australia in Australia late last year.

Newly promoted Vishnu Boys Hindu College are also expected to field a strong team which includes four national youth players in Under-15 skipper Kirstan Kallicharan and his national teammates Aaron Mairam and Bryan Boodram and Under-17 pacer Jarlanie Seales.

They face Trinity College East at Gilbert Park, California today.

Naparima Boys College will be fielding an experienced team which will be captained by national Under-19 spinner Jovan Ali. They open their campaign against Barrackpore West Secondary at Barrackpore today.

Also in action today is a young Presentation College Chaguanas team, who will be on the road against Fatima College at Fatima Ground in Mucurapo.

Defending InterCol Twenty20 champions El Dorado East Secondary will face Carapichaima East Secondary in the other fixture today in El Dorado.
