Hillview still on top in SSCL

Hillview College stayed at the top of the PowerGen Secondary Schools Cricket League (SSCL) Premier Division with a nine-wicket win over Fatima College, in their round six match at Fatima Ground in Mucurapo, yesterday.

A five-wicket haul from off-spinner Shameer Muradali combined with leg-spinner Jesse Bootan's three scalps saw Fatima crash to 54 all out before Brandon Ramdial's 36 not out helped the visitors reach 57 for one in 13 overs.

The win ensured Hillview stayed at the top of the ten-team standings.

Close behind are Carapichaima East Secondary who beat Iere High School by 79 runs to keep the pressure on the leaders. Caps made 174 before left-arm spinner Justin Joseph's five-for helped dismiss Iere for 95.

Elsewhere, defending Premier Division champions Presentation College Chaguanas, who were last heading into yesterday's match, got their campaign back on track with a seven-wicket win over Union Claxton Bay.
