Jadoo guides East to big win

Left-arm orthodox spinner Tevon Jadoo grabbed six for 25 and five for 11 to bowl East to a convincing 132-run win over North East in their BG T&T Under-19 InterZone match at Brooklyn Ground in Sangre Grande, yesterday.

After the batsmen starred on day one of the contest on Monday with Jeremy Solozano hitting 136 to set up East’s total for 234 for five declared, Jadoo stole the show on the final day yesterday to dismiss North East for 89 and 76.

Central, who were joint champions with North last year, were also victorious yesterday, recovering from a first innings deficit to beat South East by 39 runs at Sancho Road Ground in south Trinidad.

The other two games yesterday ended in draws with North gaining first innings points over Tobago at Shaw Park, and South clinching first innings points over South West at Happy Hill Recreation Ground in Rousillac.

The BG T&T InterZone Youth Tournaments continue today with the Under-17 50-over competition.
