The two top batsmen from the recently concluded BG T&T Under-15 InterZone tournament, East Zone’s Kirstan Kallicharan and South East Zone’s Cephas Cooper, head a list of 14 players selected to represent Trinidad and Tobago in the Regional Under-15 Championships later this year.
Kallicharan captained the side that won the title last year in Jamaica and has had a brilliant season so far with the bat, dominating the Under-15 tournament with three centuries in the preliminary stage and another in the final as he led East to their fourth consecutive title.
The number three batsman was also included in the T&T Under-17 squad.
Cooper has also been in good form with the bat, leading South East to the InterZone final where the lost to East.
Also returning to the national team are wicketkeeper Leonardo Julien, pacer Nathaniel McDavid and batsman Kirsten Thurton.
Thurton banged a top-score of 181 for Central in the InterZone tournament this year.
The squad was selected by Under-15 selectors Narsingh Rambaran, Bhim Saugh, Robert Mahabir and John Pollard following last week’s Under-15 InterZone final at Inshan Ali Park in Preysal.
Glen Dwarika will return as coach of the team while Anthony Ramjit was retained as the manager.
