Steven Katwaroo and Daron Cruickshank both scored half centuries yesterday to guide the Yannick Ottley XI to 287 for nine, at stumps on the first day of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) three-day trial match, at the National Cricket Centre, Balmain Couva.
Katwaroo, who is fighting for the wicket-keeper position in the national squad for their opening four-day match against the Windward Islands next week, hit a patient 73 off 132 balls with seven fours and two sixes, spending two hours and 43 minutes at the crease, while allrounder Cruickshank scored 55 off 108 balls with eight fours. Cruickshank batted for two hours, putting on 104 runs with Katwaroo for the seventh wicket.
