The premier local competition takes place July 11 from 6.30 p.m. at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya.

Organised annually by former T&T and CAC champion Lawrence “The Beast” Marshall, the 2014 Classic offers some $30,000 in cash prizes. Competition will be held in the lightweight, middleweight, light-heavyweight and heavyweight body-building classes.

There wil also be men’s physique and women’s figure competitions. This year’s, Sportworld Classic introduces the women’s bikini and men’s physique competitions, which have become very popular in other local competitions.

Both guest-posers are professional body-builders. Khan, 34, is a British Pakistini muslim body-builder who has several times placed highly in the IFBB UK British Championships, which he won in 2009.

As an amateur, he remains the only bodybuilder in history to win the US’s nationals at three different weight classes, light, welter, and middleweight. He was also the first welterweight to win the overall Mr USA title which qualifies American bodybuilders for the pro ranks.
