Former Trinidad and Tobago cricketer and sports administrator, Lance Murray passed away on Sunday at the age of 91.

Murray, the father of former West Indies wicketkeeper Deryck Murray, was a first class cricketer himself for T&T, and was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in 1995 for his role as a sports administrator.

He was also among 50 persons honoured by the T&T Cricket Board (TTCB), last month, during a special event to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the nation's independence.

Murray (Lance) received a Public Service Medal of Merit (gold) in 1981 for dedicated service throughout his working career, and the Chaconia Medal Gold in 1992 for long and meritorious service to T&T in the sphere of sports administration.
