Les Femmes, Les Enfants get ANSL 'Retro' wins

Les Femmes and Les Enfants earned easy wins in the Courts All Sectors Netball League's Retro Division on Monday at Eastern Regional Indoor Sporting Arena in Tacarigua.

Goal shoot Pamela Nathaniel led Les Femmes to a 26-18 win over Complete Custom Services (CCS) with 20 goals from 27 attempts, as they led in every quarter before closing out the match.

They pulled away in the second quarter after leading 6-4 in the first, for a 13-6 half-time score. CCS railed 12-21 at the end of the third and outscored their opponents by one goal in the final period, which would not be enough to see them stage a comeback.

Maylin Peters, the Les Femmes goal attack, supported Nathaniel with six from seven shooting, while CCS goal attack Sherry Thomas scored 15 of 28 attempts, and goal shoot Jacqueline Morris added three goals from eight attempts.

In the other match at Tacarigua, goal attack Michelle Boyce sank 17 of her 27 attempts, supported by goal shoot Joanna Payne (five of 21) to help Les Enfants score a 22-14 victory over Harlem.

Jill Humphrey had 13 goals from 27 attempts, but it was not enough to save Harlem, who trailed at the end of each quarter.
