Evin Lewis slammed 70 off 29 balls to lead the Rayad Emrit XI to an emphatic eight-wicket win over the Jason Mohammed XI in the second Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board Twenty20 trial match at the National Cricket Centre, Balmain, Couva yesterday.
After restricting Mohammed’s team to 119 for eight off their 20 overs, Lewis smacked nine fours and four sixes to lead the Emrit XI victory charge.
The PowerGen batsman brought up his 50 off just 19 balls.
He started with two fours and a six off Navin Stewart’s first over before hitting Yannic Cariah for 20 in the seventh over.
Khary Pierre was also carted around the ground, going for 21 in his only over.
Lewis was eventually out caught off the bowling of Ancil Bhagan with his team already close to their target.
