Malvern hockey tourney flicks off tomorrow

Petrotrin and Defence Force will flick off the Malvern Sports Club 70th Anniversary Field Hockey Tournament, at the National Hockey Centre in Tacarigua, tomorrow.

The teams are in Men's Pool A, which starts at 9 a.m. That group also includes Georgetown Cricket Club "B" Team from Guyana, Malvern's "A" team and Notre Dame. Pool B will feature Paragon, QPCC, Fatima, Barbados' Maple, and Georgetown Cricket Club's "A" team.

The women's draw features seven teams in a single pool—Malvern, Paragon, Ventures, Maritime Harvard Checkers, Shandy Carib Magnolias, Georgetown Cricket Club and Notre Dame.

The two-day tournament is part of a series of activities celebrating Malvern's 70 years in local sport.
