Marlins go to Florida water polo tourney

Marlins will be sending four teams to the 11th Annual South Florida International Water Polo Tournament in Coral Springs, Florida starting Friday and running until Sunday.

Forty-four water polo players will be leaving local shores Thursday for the States in what is being considered the largest South Florida International Water Polo Tournament to date, with the participation of 56 teams in four categories (19U male and female, 16U male and 14U coed).

Participating countries include Hungary, USA, Canada, Brazil, Puerto Rico and Jamaica along with Trinidad and Tobago.

Marlins Swim Club will have entered teams in all four categories with the participation of 44 players ranging from 12 to 18 years of age.

According to head delegate Marsha Bhawanie, "this competition will be an important club tournament for the development of our younger more inexperienced players."

The squads will be led by head coach Alan Too-a-Foo, also a national team coach, and his assistant Andrew Too-A-Foo
